At DM Foot and Ankle, we realize holiday greetings no longer have to take the form of a card. Maybe you've seen the viral video from the Holderness family in North Carolina, "Christmas Jammies."
The family's video Christmas card (which has over 13 million views,) stars dad/local TV news anchor Penn Holderness rapping to the beat of Will Smith's “Miami” while his wife and kids dance in matching striped holiday pj's. All the while, they recap the events of their year.
In that spirit, we wanted to recap some of the highlights from 2013 at DM Foot and Ankle:
On April 3, Dr. Michelle Kim welcomed baby Max into her family. He joins an older sister and brother.
We also welcomed new faces to our staff this year. This summer, our nail tech began working for us to offer medically safe mani-pedis. In addition, our medical assistant, Joel, went from part-time to full time this fall. And in the spring, we hired Erinn as our patient and community relations coordinator to educate other doctors about the services we offer and to look for opportunities to get involved around town.
And about those mani-pedis... This summer, we started offering them on Saturdays. They're designed to reduce the chance of picking up fungus or infections. Everything involved – the nail files, buffing blocks and brushes used to apply the polish -- are single-use, eliminating the chance of cross-contamination. We use antifungal polish, our instruments are properly sterilized and the whirpool foot baths are disinfected with medical-grade products.
From September through November, we held a new patient raffle. Patients who referred a friend or family member had their name entered into a raffle. As a result, over 50 new patients came into our office! Meanwhile, an iPad Mini and other prizes were given away during our Patient Appreciation party on Dec. 6.
We had a busy year in 2013 and look forward to doing even more in the new year. We wish all their patients and their families a happy holiday season
